Trench Heating
Trench heating provides efficient warmth without the need for traditional wall-mounted radiators, making it perfect for rooms with limited wall space. It’s especially useful for creating a heat curtain – a stream of warm air that forms a thermal barrier, helping to prevent heat loss and cold drafts, particularly near large windows or doors.
How Does Trench Heating Work?
The system works by installing a discreet convector unit within a floor trench, which is then covered with your choice of grille, to complement your flooring. Cool air enters through the grilles, is heated by the element and then rises naturally to warm your room. This creates a comfortable, consistent warmth, that’s also energy efficient, making it economical to run. If you need to increase the amount of warmth produced, a fan can be added to further enhance airflow.
Can Trench Heating Be Retrofitted?
Whilst trench heating is typically fitted during the construction or renovation of a home, it is possible to retrofit and our Micro Trench Canal is a great option in these circumstances. Due to its small size and shallow depth, there is less disruption to your existing floor structure, making it easier to install. And despite its small size, it still provides great heat outputs, thanks to small but powerful heat exchangers inside the trench.
