Just because radiators are practical, it doesn’t mean they have to be boring. You may not be aware that some designer radiators have a wow factor, but some modern radiators can provide a real talking point. As a nation we’ve made do with utilitarian designs for too long – it’s time to shake things up on the walls of our homes and make a bold statement with the funkiest designer radiators on the market.

Jump To Funky Radiators

Designer radiators have always looked great which is what makes them so much more desirable than the ‘bog standard’ radiators – the ones that have been fitted as standard in the majority of homes for decades, but which usually detract from the aesthetic value of the room.

Whatever your radiator type, it will always be hot stuff

The beauty of modern designer radiators is that, thanks to improvements in radiator technology, they have been able to embrace sometimes radically different shapes and forms, creating interesting and unusual radiators. It’s important to note that, given the most important function of a radiator is to heat your room to a comfortable temperature, all our radiators – whether they’re designer, energy efficient, electric, cast iron or traditional – are strong enough to heat your home even during the coldest of British winters.

Putting the fun into funky designer radiator

As radiator technology improves, they’ve become less conventional looking and become a lot funkier. People have started to realise that, just because they need radiators, it doesn’t mean they can’t have fun with them. Heat doesn’t have to be boring and there’s a growing popularity for funky radiators that you’ll want to draw attention to.

Come and visit one of our UK showrooms to check out our range of modern radiators that are stylish and exciting. But if you’re not quite ready to go ‘full funk’, you can stick to a more traditional radiator shape, but add a splash of colour to your room by choosing from a huge range of RAL colours, or even getting a custom-made colour to match your interior exactly.

Hot art

If you love paintings and you love being nice and toasty, then you’ll adore our funky Frame designer radiators which combine heat with modern art.  We’ve got a wide range of original designs to choose from, as well as art inspired by classic artists, Kandinsky and Klimt.

The funkiest designs in terms of bold colours are the Astratto and colourful Pop Memory designs, but the original Corallo is always a popular choice. So if you don’t have enough wall space for a painting and a designer radiator, combine the two and have the best of both worlds! The Frame radiators are on display at our Brighton and Leamington Spa showrooms.

Futuristic

The Surf is an incredibly funky design that has been inspired by the shape of a surfboard, but interestingly will give your room an impressive ‘space- age’ look. The very essence of cool. It is a very striking radiator – no one will be able to walk into your room for the first time and not notice it! What’s more, it comes in a wide range of colours so you can tailor it to be as funky as you’d like it to be. The valves are completely hidden behind the Surf which makes it appear even less like a functional tool and more like a work of art.

Industrial piping

If you’re going for an industrial or a steam-punk look, the</span > Pajak radiator’s copper piping will complement this style perfectly. It is as practical as it is funky, with bars and wooden knobs from which to hang towels or coats, making it ideal for the bathroom or kitchen as well as for the hallway. In fact, we think it’s beautiful enough for any room in the house. This product is available to view in our Brighton, St Albans and Clapham radiator showrooms.

Waving at Oslo

Still thinking about the sea, the gentle waves of the Oslo radiator will add movement to your interior design. Unconventional yet stylish, Oslo’s visual impact will turn heads. It comes in a wide choice of colours, so you can create elegance or verve depending on the use of the room you want to put it in. The Oslo is available to view at our Islington, St Albans and Brighton showrooms.

Playful efficiency

The Play is a wonderfully quirky design, at the same time as being energy-efficient and having a low surface temperature, which makes it ideal for kids’ bedrooms. It is composed of separate panels, which can be black or white, a funky combination of black and white, or a combination of pastel pink or pastel blue themed colours suitable for the most discerning playroom!

Nature radiators

It doesn’t have to be out there or a primary colour in order to be stylish, exciting and cool. The understatedly funky Livingstone range will truly impress, especially with designs as diverse as the honeycombed Aperoso or the undulating Ecigi. And the Livingstone collection has a range of colours to choose from so they can be a perfect match with your decor. But we think the coolest thing about them is their sustainability – they’re made out of recycled materials and are fully recyclable at the end of their useful life…though that won’t be for many years.

Size matters

There are dozens of funky designer radiators on the market, but what you have to bear in mind is that they’re not usually designed with UK winters in mind. That’s why we don’t stock every design, however much we love them. There’s no point in installing an amazing funky radiator if it isn’t going to give you enough heat to keep your home warm enough in a British January. So we can guarantee that all our contemporary radiators and traditional radiators have impressive heat outputs.

A lot of the funkiest and most dazzling designs are created in Italy where the heat requirements are different. What works for an Italian winter will not work for a British one. So check the British Thermal Units (BTU) heat output before you buy.

Click here to use our handy BTU calculator to get an idea of the size of radiator you’ll need, although our specialists will always double-check the size of the radiator you’ll need to order so you’ll always have the correct heat output. Therefore, you can be sure that our range of funky radiators will not only be a style statement, they’ll also keep your house warm and cosy.
